What is ad verification and how does it work?
What ad verification measures, how the tools work, and how publishers keep their numbers clean.
Written by Samhub with the help of AI·Updated 13 Oct 2026·3 min readAd verification is independent checking that ads ran as agreed: seen by real people, in a suitable environment, in the right places.
What verification measures
| Check | Question |
|---|---|
| Viewability | Was the ad visible? |
| Invalid traffic | Was it a real person? |
| Brand safety | Was the content suitable? |
| Geography | Was it shown in the right country? |
How it works
The buyer adds a small script or tag to the ad. It reports what happened when the ad loaded, and can block the ad on pages that fail the buyer’s rules.
