Business
What is the pricing model for Samhub?
It depends what services you want to utilise. For our DMP and targeting we charge a “pay as you go” CPM-fee when you use the targeting services.
We have an expected minimum monthly usage based on your traffic volumes. For our CDP we charge based on annual logged in user volumes. For our reporting services we charge for how many monthly reports you have.
For our advertiser analytics we have a rev-share model where the advertiser pays for the service and we both get a part of the fee. Of course fully compatible with any CMP and TCF 2.2.
Is Samhub a reliable service?
We want to think that it is. It has been live for over a decade. We have over 15 years experience in both sell side and buy side audience data.
We have several publishers and media as customers for many years, we have brands that use our analytics services that are both governmental and in the banking and finance sector, that have very strict expectations for legal compliance.
At our core is a belief that the world needs a free and independent press and the Internet users need to feel safe in that their personal information is used responsibly.
Implementation
What does “Single script implementation” mean?
It means just that, one script, same script on all your digital properties. We have our own tag manager as our integration layer. This means that we can configure each site integration based on that specific site.
If you have paywall on some sites and not on other, if you have dynamically loaded content, if you have one CMS on one site and another on another site – we can configure this for you. Minimizing the demand on your own development resources.
Of course fully compatible with any CMP and TCF 2.2.
How long does implantation take?
Depends on how fast your developers can deploy our script to your domains. One script, same script, on all domains. If you want to add our CDP you need to connect to our API and if you have some customizations you want, this will of course take a bit longer.
Can I use Samhub with my current ad tech?
Yes. We are fully compatible with any adserver, SSP or DSP. You can also use our ID-free ad targeting to share audiences with external parties without sharing any personal user information.
I already have a DMP, can I still use Samhub?
Yes, we are a modular platform that can complement or replace any existing setup. You can combine the different parts of Samhub and use them with your existing setup. OR, if you want to save some money you can most likely replace your old DMP with Samhub and save some money.
We want to build our own tech stack, but maybe use some parts of Samhub. Can we?
Of course, any great relationship has to start somewhere. We have many great customers that started out with a small project that grew from there. Our platform is modular and can be combined with other platforms, we just have to figure out how to do it in the best possible way.
Platform
How does the data enrichment work?
We have several different layers of data enrichment. We enrich on household level, on geographical level, on context level and interest level.
The household level means matching logged in users to household data, based on address. The geographical level means matching anonymous users based on geographical signals (IP-address, longitude/latitude, zip code, etc.) to statistical data sources.
The context level means matching the article categorisation to the URLs. The interest level means matching users to context categories over time.
Why is contextual targeting included and how does it work?
The content you as a media have is your gold, the reason users come to you. It is only natural that we help you make the most of it.
As it is unstructured it needs to become structured, so we analyse every article on our customers websites and classify them with IAB-categories, Topics and Entities. We use this information for contextual targeting and also for building interest audiences.
We also offer context as a fallback targeting option for our interest audiences, to maximise reach and addressability as context does not require consent.
How do you manage user consent?
We are connected to your CMP and in the case where a user does not give consent, we do not process any information about that user on that visit. We can however offer contextual targeting on that users visit, as the contextual categories are linked to the URL and not the user.
What does ID-free targeting mean?
It means that we allow for targeting of campaigns without sharing any user IDS, not 3rd party cookies and not 1st party IDs.
It means exposing the audiences instead, in real time, and allowing for the receiving platform to use the audience data securely and safely. Minimizing legal risks for you.
Monetisation
What CPM uplift can I expect from targeted ad impressions?
This depends on your market and the CPM-levels for that market, but we see an average uplift in eCPM-levels of 10-50% for targeted ad impressions amongst our customers (both I/O, ad network, programmatic campaigns and deals).
Our sales team are not used to using data in their sales. What do we do?
We all have to start somewhere. We usually say: keep it simple. We have a long experience of doing this and we have training materials and sales tools to assist you on this journey. But in the end it is not about selling data, it is about helping the advertiser reach their goals, data is just what powers it.
Compliance
We have a strict data policy and use our own DPA, will that work with Samhub?
Yes of course, this is not a problem. If you prefer to use your own DPA we just have to make sure that it accurately describes what data processing we do for you.
How does the CDP work and how do you keep the information safe?
The CDP stores user information in a pseudonymized way. This means that we at Samhub do not have access to the information about your customers.
When we store any personal information we one-way encrypt it and then delete the original information so that you as a media have control over the personal information of your users. We store the data as long as we have been instructed by you and only use it for the purposes you decide.
Validation
What does automated reporting and analytics mean?
It means just that: We automate setting of tracking tags, automate the collection of campaign data and automate the report generation as well.
A part of the service is using your audiences and data to create detailed analysis of each campaign, analytics your sales team can use to upsell the next campaign.
If you want we can also automate the sending out of the campaign reports, or integrate them with your booking system.
If we want to integrate Samhub with one of our advertisers, how does that work?
The advertisers needs an account, or workspace as we call it, in Samhub.
They need to approve the terms and conditions for the Samhub service, or have a DPA with you, and also connect their CMP to Samhubs TCF seat: 1226.
